Colonics

What is Colon Hydrotherapy and why is it useful?

Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle hygienic way of restoring the colon to a healthy state. Today, we are exposed to more stress, chemicals, drugs and food additives than ever before in our history.

The removal of these toxins from our body is essential for optimal health. Poor Diet, inadequate water intake, lack of exercise and stress can all cause fecal matter to become impacted on the colon walls. This fecal matter can contain putrefied food, indigestible chemicals, bacteria, viruses, yeast and parasites.

The toxins in the fecal matter are absorbed by the colon wall and re-circulated through the blood stream this process is called “autointoxication”. As these toxins circulate the body, the lymphatic, circulatory systems, liver, lungs and kidneys become overburdened and when these systems are unable to cope with this toxic overload your body becomes at risk of serious health problems.

Symptoms of autointoxication include:

Acne, Headaches, Allergies, Arthritis, Asthma, Frequent Colds, Bloating, Chronic Fatigue, Indigestion, Depression, Difficult Weight Loss, Foul Body/Breath Odor, Irritability/Nervousness, Diarrhea/Constipation.

How long is a treatment?
The session takes 45 minutes on average. However, appointments are 1 hour long to give you time to prepare before and after the session.

What is the Process?

The Treatment begins with the therapist administering a lower abdominal massage, which helps to increase peristaltic action loosen impacted fecal matter, this will also give the therapist a good idea of what condition the colon is in.

After the massage, the client lies on their side as a disposable procto-scope is gently inserted into the rectum. A gentle flow of purified water enters the colon through gravity technique. During one treatment, 20-30 gallons (approx. 60 liters) of water is used, and the treatment lasts for approximately 45 minutes.

As the water leaves out a separate tube, it carries with it impacted fecal matter, gas and mucus. Unlike an enema, which cleanse only the first 8-12 inches, this process cleanses the entire length of the colon. Clients may notice dramatic differences in the appearance of the skin and eyes, feel lighter and have more energy within days of treatment.

Are Colonics uncomfortable and/or painful?

It rarely is. Usually, uncomfortable experiences are the result of resistance and tension. Our professional therapist is skilled at putting you at ease in the relaxing setting of the clinic. Most people actually enjoy the treatment and are extremely pleased with the sensation of feeling lighter, clean and clear afterward.

How many treatments do I need?

The average person will require approximately a series of 10 treatments.

Persons with severe or chronic conditions may require more treatments. Monthly or Yearly maintenance treatments are recommended thereafter.

Will I Go Back To Regular Bowel Movements After A Colonic?

There can be a slight delay in your routine, depending on how much material is released and how much of a workout your colon had during the session. For some, it can take up to 4 days after their first session to resume a normal bowel schedule, but that does decrease over the course of your sessions, so that when you have a colonic, you return to your regular bowel schedule the following day. This is a result of your colon being toned by the process; the motility getting stronger over the course of your sessions.

Digestive Health Counselling

Most people may do their best to make healthy choices, but without a comprehensive understanding of all the issues regarding their health, their efforts are often based on incomplete or biased information.

The role of the holistic nutritionist is to assess your individual health status, create a health plan to support individual needs and objectives, and explain recommendations in a clear and useable way. Education-based guidance (knowing what you are doing and why you are doing it) is the most effective and lasting path for helping people achieve better health.

Ear Candling

Ear candles are hollow cones made of fabric covered in paraffin wax, beeswax, or soy wax. Most ear candles are about a foot in length. The pointed end of the candle is placed in your ear. The slightly wider end is lit.

Proponents of this treatment, called ear candling, claim that the warmth created by the flame causes suction. The suction pulls earwax and other impurities out of the ear canal and into the hollow candle.

To prepare for the procedure, you lie on your side with one ear facing down. The practitioner inserts the pointed end of the candle into the hole of the ear that’s facing up and adjusts it to create a seal. You shouldn’t perform the procedure on yourself because it can be dangerous.

In most cases, a circular guard of some sort is placed about two-thirds of the way down the candle to catch any dripping wax. These are often flimsy and made of aluminum foil or paper plates.

Cautious practitioners will cover your head and neck with a towel for more protection. Guidelines also suggest holding the candle straight so any drippings roll down the side rather than dropping into the ear or onto the face.

The candle is allowed to burn for about 10 to 15 minutes. During that time, the burned part of the fabric is supposed to be trimmed to prevent it from contaminating the tube.

The procedure continues until only 3 to 4 inches of the candle remain. Then the flame is extinguished carefully. Blowing it out while it’s still in the ear can cause hazardous burning ash to go flying.

What is ear candling supposed to do?

Marketers of ear candles advertise them as treatments for:

After the procedure, the practitioner usually cuts the candle open vertically to show the patient the material that was drawn out of the ear.
